depending on what size tire you run you might not have to tub the firewall. When i bagged mine i bagged it to lay out on 18s (i was still rollin stock 14s) and i had tires on there that added up to be exactly the size of an 18 w/tires and it cleared the firewall. you have to cut out of the lower A-arm for frame clearance if you dont use drop spindles or anything. i would recommend getting spindles or control arms i wish i had some. i got 16" escalade wheels and a 40 series tire right now and the front still lacks about 1/2" from laying out. i was afraid to cut out anymore
do they make spindles for a 83? if not im guessing flipping the balljoints are my only alternative ive running 16" z-71s similar to dragorbust's prob im 1/4" from laying on front crossmember
dragorbust Yes its safe i welded mine straight to the lower control arms and just put holes in the spacers so the bolts can go threw to bolt the lower balljoint down...
im tuckin these big a$$ baloons(26 inches top to bottom) with 3/4 inch spacers between my ball joints...but im 1/4 from crossmember on the ground, because tires hit firewall...no prob though,i got some z's in the machine shop gettin bored out
since drop spindles won't fit in my stock wheels can i get drop lower control arms and flip my ball joints and lay out on stock wheels and how tall is an 18" wheel with a 35 series tire?
