What are strut rods and why are we trying to get rid of them?

If u look under the lower control arms on the front suspension of your truck the strut rod is the bar that goes from the bottom of the lower control arms to the front of the frame it keeps the lower control arms from moving, you can ONLY get ride of them if u have custom arms made...

So when you bag the front end you just dissconnect them forget about them?
baggedb22   +1y
NO! Keep them unless u bag the front end of custom tubbed a-arms like barnyard arms or something, But if u run the stock lowers keep them connected!

pics?? and if you dont need them with tube a-arms y do you need them with stock??

because the strut rods make it so you dont hit a crazy bump or what and tweak your lower arm.....

think about it a arms have 2 mounting points, and look like a wishbone... our control arms are skinny and mount to the frame at one point which means there isnt that secont mounting point for strength and whatnot.....kinda get my drift?? its hard to put into words just know that unless you buy tubular A-arms KEEP THE STRUT RODS!!

k, so how does the tubular a arm have enough trength it doesnt need the rod???

Ok, But will that inhibit my front end travel, I mean will I get more lift and drop if I get tubural arms so that I can get rid of the strut rods?
