i see haha

accomplishes the same but just more work but why 3.5inches low87dawg?

okay im talkin about just a 3 1/2" traditional body drop i know that u have to bd the cab. yall are makin me sound retarded im just bodydroppin it like i did an s10 and i dont see why it wouldnt work
where im pointing in the pic is where i want to cut not the frame ear things
and i wont have to notch the crossmember for a motor drop
oh yea and if this helps ive got kustom werks arms so i dont need the sway bar like things that connect to the front crossmember from the stock control arms
i cant ever remember what they are called

sorry for making you look bad bro, didnt mean it that way

but why not just drop the ears, less work for yourself

that really wouldnt solve the problem of the crossmember laying first before the rest of the frame if you "Z" it there. you have to Z it before the crossmember. i'd just Z it right under the firewall and just drop the ears down whatever the amount of bodydrop you want and the amount of Z

haha well, to be fair that is not the accepted definition of a Z, although in your defense it is indeed performed the same way.

and it would work, sorry for confusing things. Saying "Z" just threw a wrench in it for me.

ok now my question....should i "z" the framew while i have everything apart, or should i jusdt bag it and drag the shit out of my crossmember??
low87dawg   +1y
but if i z it at the fire wall then i will have to move the ears or the crossmember still
but if i just move the cross member down with the ears than i wont have to notch it for the radiator and just bd the cab
and cut out the floor at the front and build a new one

well the point of the Z is so the frame will lay flat, you can either Z it or drag it. if you BD it laying flat w/o Z'ing the frame then you are laying rear frame and front crossmember and rockers etc. not full frame

dont matter, up to you man
low87dawg   +1y
hey i just decided to move the ears uP front. so if iM doin a 3 1/2" bD i move the ears the same amount right?
low87dawg   +1y
ello?
russ d   +1y
yep you drop the ears the same amount as your bd.

are you trying to lay rocker or are you cutting into the rocker? I only ask not to second guess what you are doing, but to tell you that 2.5 will lay flat rocker with the pinches folded/removed.
