Ok I just read the junes mini truck article on 4 links and its a little scary lol.. I have never bagged a truck but I want to do a forward 4 link with my bags on the bars.. Im going to buy th SD kit I want to know how long my bars should be? Whats most common for an 86 standard cab mazda? What are you guys using? Is this the best way to go? Im orderin stuff the middle of June.. I was also curious how hard it is to move my tank into the back of my bed?? Sorry for so many questions.. You can email me at If that will be easier..Thanks for any help.

I would love to have a washington guy help me with this.. Im in Vancouver

ask mark on 4 link, he has a very nice 4 link set up that isnt all that difficult as far as the gas tank its not hard just extend some lines and ur wires , and mount it and call it a day

You really need to measure yourself to see how long your bars are going to be. Everyone will mount their stuff different.

^ yea, you can do it many ways.

but what you can do is buy the 4link, and base the mounts off of the 4link you bought. thing with SD, they will ask you the lengths you want, they dont really have preset bars, but they can make the bars as long as you want them to. so you may want to take advantage of that.

take your bed off and lay it out in your mind what you want to do, then go from there and do some measurements

the gastank thing, many of us here pretty much just used 1x1 boxed tubing and ran them across the framerails and welded them. the tank then bolts into the 1x1 tubing. then like slammed83 said, you will have to extend the lines

goodluck and don't be scared to ask questions.

I figured id run a cross member right behind the cab than run my bars from that to the axle Id kind of like to wait to take the bed off untill everythings here..

this is my set up its all SD bar ends bags mounted on lower bars
its on a extended cab so its gonna be a little differrent bar lengths and as you can tell we got rid of the stock tank and got a 26 gallon fuel cell made up to accept the stock sending unit I can drive from the everglades to the georga border on a tank any questions just ask
