I recently put drop spindles on and cranked the torsions down a bit and I noticed that the passenger side suspension is super stiff while the driver's side is not. I figured that the shocks were done so i took them out to replace them with lowering shocks, but it is the exact same without shocks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

2 thoughts.Sometimes when u crank torsion bars down, they have been in one place for so long they have rusted and dont "unwind"when u take tension off.Soak the ends of the bars in WD40 spray give it overnite and then find a short stretch of deserted road get up to about 30 and slam on u r brakes a couple of times. This may make the bar(s) unwind.Second thought, measure from level
ground thru the middle of ur front wheel hub to the lip in ur fender and see if both sides are same height,u may have cranked one bar down too much.Hope this helps. BJ

well the heights are the same from side to side i will try hand at the first thing you mentioned.

thanks.

did it work? or whats happening with it?

Its still bad.

Today, i jacked it up to take a further look at it and when i put it back the the bad side was up and extra 2 inches than normal and with a push it was back down.

I still have no idea whats going on with it.

I think i may just take the whole torsion bar assembly apart, clean it up and put it back together and see whats up then.

Thanks.

Hmmmm....How far from the bumpstops are you? Sounds like a torsion bar problem though, just completely remove them...make sure the gears in the torsion bars are not stripped, and same with the gears on the frame/control side where it bolts too, soak'em, clean'em up, and reindex them the same way and let us know..

What the man said. Sounds like u may have stripped the splines out of one side or actually broken one "the soft side".BJ

i was afraid of that.

But yeah i think i will just take it apart and see whats up. i will tell you whats going on with it after that.

thanks for your help.

Be careful screwing with those bars. They have been known to unwind with a vengance and do serious damage to arms legs etc. Be careful.BJ

thanks for the heads up.
