sd 4link or pipe bender?

realistically, i should probubly go with a sd 4 link, i have never bagged a truck before...but it's gettin close to that time, prolly another month or two.. and never bent pipe before...

but there is a 12 ton pipe bender at princess auto for 100 bucks this week, thats temping to pick up one and learn!

think this will bend large enough pipe for a link setup in a mazda? ... i think it said up to 2" 12 guauge, but how thick is 12 guage?

if your only buying it to make parts for your bridge and then when your done your basically done with the tool - consider it a waste - you said you don't know how to use it and you really have no other reason to have it around . I say find a buddy with a tube bender and throw him some loot and get him to do it . just do a full size drawing what you want your bridge work to look like . any one who knows how to look at a drawing for machining can copy yours just make yours to spec - measurements .


LIKE i said it would be considered a waste if you just bought it for bending tube to bag your truck then tuck it away in a corner and forget about . keep that 100$ and give your buddy some loot like i said and find some parts you want .

dont sound bad for $100 and if you plan on doing more bagged trucks in your future or helping out a friend with one id do it, id kill to have a pipe bender especially for that cheap.

but if you only plan on doing this once id say no

I say do the math.........
If its cheaper to buy the bender and buy tubing to bend.....then buy it...
but if its cheaper to buy pre bent parts then i would say..don't buy the bender..

That bender is more for bending exhaust tube, it kinks it a abit. just order the tube ya need, less hassle in the long run

I was reading this and thryin to wonder where everyone was commin up with tube bended seeeing as the title is pipe bender....

mmmmmm drooool. I have found that most things that come from Princess Auto and marked Power Fist - are not that ggreat quality. I have heard of people using those pipe benders BUT it does dimpel the tube. ya one of those series 3 benders from JD squared are frikkin awesome. I am still trying to justify buying one. 300.00 for the bender isn't so bad BUT the dies for it are the kick in the ass.

so what kind of bends? crush bends i guess?
