Well seeing as I live on nothing but SHITTY roads I was thinking about raising my truck. Now I just have a couple of questions I would like to ask How much lift can I exspect if I crank my torsion bars all the way up? Have any of you guys ever used a flip kit in the rear of your truck to place the axel on the bottom of the leafs instead of on the top? Any one have any pics of 2wd Mazdas lifted? Thanks

Depends on where ur bars are indexed now.Every 5 turns on the adj.nut = about 1inch adjustment up or down. However there is just so much cranking u can do.Also, more tension =much harsher ride.If u relocate ur rear springs tothe top of the axle, u will need to relocate brake lines, as well as figure out a way to keep the springs secure on the axle as there is no locater pin on the topof the axle like there is on the bottomWhy not just rearch ur springs and or use 4x4 springs?.BJ

Assuming you're stock, you can probably get a couple inches lift out of your torsion bars. If you get a 4x4 axle you can flip it and get about 4" of lift in the rear. Add that to a 3" body lift and you'll be sitting pretty (so to speak).

If you want to see a nice 2WD lifted Mazda, google "Fabtech Mazda" and look under images. It'll be your first hit.

can you still buy that fabtech kit, or did they stop making it. I kind of want to see how the torsions do on the sand before I go all out with a coil over setup.

also, when you turn your torsions, make sure you rock the truck, back it up and pull it back into place, then check the hieght of the vehichle to make sure it even. If you have been driving on hard roads awhile, your torsions might not go all that far, My dads pathfinder was driven on hard roads and his front end dropped about 2", it wont go up any further then they are right now.

I think the Fabtech is discontinued. Might look into new torsions from Sway-A-Way.

Thanks guys I got a full 4x4 that I'm stripping (frames as crooked as a crack heads teeth) So far I got the bed, fender, bucket seats, rims/tires, windshield, rear end, I pretty much have everythign except the cab and drivers fender and motor. But thank you for the help guys

EDIT: I've done a search and couldn't find any lift kits for the truck do any of you have any ideas on where to get one?

any one ever go for the 2wd pro truck look with one of these , you know, the baja speedy type w/ long suspension travel.
I could dig that.
they are not realllly lifted, but they got lots of suspension travel

Here is what I did to mine.First,I put new bushings(neoprene/polturethane) in the front sway bar. Then I ordered a set of Tokico R/T shocks (gas pressure) for the truck.Next I installed a Bell tech rear sway bar on the truck. Then i tightened torsions up just a smidge. It is up only about an inch from stock, but the ride and handling are super even on some really crappy rural roads here in TN. Pretty cheap wayto improve your overall ride quality.BJ
