Hey everyone, ive got an 86 B2000, Cab plus.

I dropped it 3" with bellteck blocks, and got an inch out of the tires. It sits really nice in the back, I've only had it bottom out once so far. Im going to be cranking the torsion bars this week sometime.

Cranking the torsions, is there any point that is considered dangerous for the truck? I dont want to crank them as much as i can, and have the front end fall apart on me. Could i get away with lowering it as much as 4" in the front as well? Im running a 205/60/15.

Does anyone have pictures of a Red ext cab b series, lowered 4", sitting on chrome pathfinder wheels with 205/60/15s?...or something close?

A wheel alignment is pretty much a necessity as well correct?

the adjustment bolt for the torsion bars screws into a t-shaped fastner...you don't want to crank that bolt below being flush with the top of that t-shaped fastner otherwise you can bend the bolt & the t-fastner. you can get 4" and be alright (i had mine reindexed & sittin on the bumpstops for the longest it gave @ 5"-6" of drop but it rode like a log wagon on the factory shocks), but you will need to get new shocks as the factory ones won't offer enough dampening to deal with it being lowered & will jar everything loose under the front end...also might want to get smaller bump stops or shave the ones up front aswell. yes you will need to get an alignment for the front once you get it lowered to where you want it as it will wear out the front tires on the inside fast because of the negative camber.... if by cranking it down flush with the top of the t-fastner isn't enough drop for you, the torsion bars will need to be reindexed...to do this you will disconnect the torsion bar adjustment screw all the way, make a mark on the other end of the torsion bar @ the receiver on the control arm, pull the torsion bar out of the receiver & turn the spline one turn clockwise on the driverside & one turn counterclockwise on the passenger side, then put the adjustment screw back in & run it up flush with the top of the t-fastner....this will keep some of the spring that the torsion bar provides while being dropped too...this will keep it from bottoming out as much.

when working on the torsion bars always keep in mind to have the truck on jack stands to relieve the tension on the suspension & chock the rear wheels. also to turn the adjustment screws the same amount on both sides, otherwise it will have a lean to one side or the other.

also, you dont want the bracket to hang below the frame because that sucks, i ripped one off one time and had to drive 30 miles back to the house, worst ride ever. anyways, i have my torsions cranked all the way down, im ridin on bumpstops front and back and they have been cut off, not completely, got about a quater inch left, i have a 6/6 drop, in the back is 2 leafs and a 4inch block. but dont take the torsions out, itll ride like ass. and yea, you definitly will need new shocks, i recommend bell-tech..i got bell-tech in front and djm in back because the djm has a larger shaft, its rides decent but prolly only because im used to it, anytime i have a passenger, they are always bouncin up and down, funny as hell

yea i had my torsions cranked all the way flipped joints, 2 leafs and 4 inch blocks and 205/40/17. i dragged my tosions out enough that the fell out. it wasnt a bad ride with a step notch done.

damn that shits nice with a static drop! I could live with that for my truck. I still cant'e decide to go static or bagged. Static is the obvious economical choice.

when i had my first hardbody the tortion bars were cranknd allll tha way in the front and i had 2in blocks stackd on top of 4 inch in tha back with only 1 leaf spring and shocks...i know that sounds dagours but i drove it everyday as a daily and back and fourth from crestview to panama city a few times too and it never gave me any problems...
