hey guys i went & registered on TTORA a site for 4wd yotas, if any body is thinkin on a yota rear for their trucks i found out some
info for us...
i measured the rear b2200 axle from wms (wheel mounting surface) to wms ours is 58.5"
here is a list of approximate sizes for 4wd yota rears (wms-wms)
'79-85: ~ 55"
'86-95: ~ 58.5"
Tacoma & '96-up 4runner: ~ 60"
T100: ~ 66.75"

so as you can see one from an 86-95 would probably fit the best.....
lsd or lockers only come standard in the 05 + tacomas, you could get an e-locker in the 00-04 trd's, but the 3rd member from this gen with an e-lock can be adapted to fit the 86-95 rears.........

tru, 2wd = 5 lug, 4wd = 6 lug......but the 4wd w/v6's have 8.4" rear axles...which would work for mild mannered v8 swaps or like in my case a build b2200 engine... i was lookin for a way to get lsd or a locked rear & have disc brakes on the rear of the truck.....but with the mazda rear you can only get one...the lsd if you swap in an rx-7 3rd member into our axle....but with the yota axle swap, you can put a lsd or locker & can find different gears to put in the axles as well & also can get a rear disc brake conversion from downey offroad....best of all worlds! so i'm lookin for an 86-95 rear axle from a v6 4wd with a 3.73 to 3.91 gear ratio, then i will have to buy a lsd or locker to put in it......& the disc brake conversion.....no more "one wheel wonder burnouts"
