rise time?

anyone know how fast 4 viair 380's will fill up a 7 gallon tank? from 0-200 psi? any help would be greatly appreciated. -tim

i got 2 380s and they pump my 5 gallon to 200 in about 8 minutes from 0psi. i wish i had a bigger tank though, i can drain this one in like 6 hits of a switch

I got 1 380 and it takes about 15 mins to fill to 200 from 0 I had a dc5000 that sucka filled a 5 gallon in like 4 minutes Im gonna get higher psi valves so I can lift the front up when Im at maz pressure or just switch the frotn dumps to the fills and that should make my front end hop a couple inches off the ground
and oldlow Im right there with you man having a 5 gallon suxs when you're switch happy.

wow, you only have 1 380 and your wanting to hop, You better get another compressor, you will burn that 380 up quick being that switch happy.

3/8" valves should make you hop no problem, I could pull the front end of my truck roughly 3" or so at 150 psi.

Per ViAir, it takes 14min 45 sec to fill 5 gallons 0-200 with 1 380c

Using that info, it would be 177 seconds to fill each gallon to 200psi per pump. That would be 1239 seconds for 1 pump on 7 gallons, 620 seconds for 2 pumps, 310 seconds for 4 pumps (5 min, 10 sec).

well i, like i said am going to run 4 380's. how fast would my truck air up? i think with 4 viairs i figured it up, running at 5.96 cfm. of course it'd be like 64 amps on my truck though. that gonna be a problem?

May be an issue. Stock alternator is around 65 amps. The stock alt on my daughters truck can barely keep voltage above 13 when the 1 air zenith runs.

just get a nitro tank....run that (at any pressure you want ) and use the viairs for backup....and a nice side benefit of nitro is that it is a dry gas, do it will not cause rust, or contaminate the valves. And I have yet to see a truck running 3/8 valves at 150 psi hop the front, unless it has no shocks and no motor....

I have 1/2 inch valves with TRUE 1/2 inch line in the back of my truck( with less than 2 feet from the tanks to the valves, and less than 2 inch from the valve to the bag) and it will only hop like 6 inches at 175

In that case, when I chain the front end back down, ill charge the batterys on the digital camera and record it hopping at 150psi without shocks, and i have 3/8" smc's with 3/8" hydraulic line, and my valves are about 2 foot from the bags in the front.

OK, well part of it is the fact that you run hydro line which is 3/8 ID not 3/16 like dot 3/8 line....and I never said it cant be done,, just never seen it...
