I'm thinkin of a way to do a cantilever on the front of my truck... was thinkin of puttin a bar from one side of the frame, over the engine, and to the other side of the frame. then mount the bag on that bar, put a heim or super pivot on the frame and connect that to the lower arm... somethin like this...

think that would work?

Have you ever thought about putting bags on your torsion bars? I've seen a vw bus with 4 inch hydros on torsion bars, the spring rate stays the same, and the height is adjusted through indexing. (if that makes any sense?)

There is a Yota featured in MT mag that uses a double control arm cantilever with coil overs. A small set of control arms inside a larger set of outer arms.

If you look way back in MT mag there was another Yota with a cantilever air shock setup.

The setup on a fullsize C-10

Thats nice, but it might be hard to shoehorn a setup like that under the hood of a mazda, but anything is possible.

the bags on torsion bar setup is made by AIM but i dont think they sell any. its just a weird idea. but the setup on that c-10 is sweet.

Can anyone give me more info about putting bags on the torsions? Like where they would go in that setup?

your ride quality would suffer like no other... idk where they would go but i wouldn't recommend it

you could do a cantilever like you drew...but a bar will not be strong enough by itself...you will need some form of gusset on top....and don't forget that the ag will travel in a sever arc and not inline vertically in that type of cantilever setup.

man that looks cool, i'd love to see it in action......

good luck with it.

why not just mount the bag on the upper a-arm?
