So I went out to crank the bolts down to see what kind of drop Ill get and I guess the drivers side came out to far becuase the bar is just haging there and the bolt piece shot off and almost took my eye out (well not the last part), whats the best way to get the bolt back in, jacking it up to relief the pressure???the truck is not being driven so is it bad to let it hang there for more than a day or so?

did you do this while the truck was on the ground?? if so jack it up enough to take the tire off the ground and if your gonna be under it a little while be sure to put a stand under it.. You shouldnt have any problem gettin back in...

there is a lot of tension on those torsion bars. if the vehicles weight is on it when you take them off or loosen them, it could cause some serious problems, possibly hurting you pretty bad.

advice...

ALWAYS GET YOUR VEHICLES WEIGHT OFF THE TORSION BARS TO RELEASE TENSION!!!

It wont hurt the truck in anyway. You can take them completly out. But yea please get the wheels off the ground and use jack stands!!!!!
