i cant find the posts but i read a while back where they sectioned part of the controll arm and flipped the ball joint... whats the result? any one got pics? and how do you do this?

i believe it's called pie cutting the control arms, you basically cut a pie shaped section out of the arm, bend the arm together where the pie section was took out at & weld it together....search pie cutting & you'll probably find what your looking for. i think robbie did the write up on it.

WELDING??? WOAH!!! STOP THE PRESS!!! LOL! No dude. What you do is unbolt ur lower ball joint. Then re-install on the "other" side of the control arm. The ball joint bolts to the arm from the top down. Remove it and hold it in place under the arm, you will notice that the bolt holes will not line up because of the bulge on the ball joint. All you have to do is use a grinder or die grinder and remove ONLY the portion of the arm that is keeping the ball joint from bolting up. Once the "excess" is removed you can bolt the ball joint to the underside of the control arm. This is good for about an inch to an inch-n-a-half. Hope this helps, Done it twice already... L8RS!!

Wait a minute, are we talking about the upper or lower???

For the lower control arm,you have to cut the little hump to make the ball joint fit on top of the LCA rather than it's stock underneath position. For the UCA,you just unbolt the ball joint, and put it on top and bolt it back in.

Then I cranked down the torsion bars all the way and with a 14" 75 profile tire,it's so low I can only stick 2 fingers between the top of the tire and the fender lip.

I just did it on my truck yesterday,it was quite simple after figuring out what to do.

To make this reaaaaally simple:

Take off your wheel, take off your caliper and rotor and your tie rod end. Look at what's left. Whatever is on the bottom gets moved to the top and bolted back in place.

I did the lower on mine, and I am tuckin' the front on 225/60/14's. Ride sux tho, waaaay 2 soft. I am plannin' on gettin' either the lowered control arms or the spindles, so I can crank the torsions back up and get some support back under there...

My truck is laid out on the bumpstops right now. I actually find the front suspension to be quite good, but I need to shave the bump stops in the back before I make a comment on the back.
