i need some shocks for the front... a friend told me just to find out what uses the same type of shock thats shorter and just use that.. what uses it?

Measure the length you need and the end types then just go to the local jobber, open the monroe book and find which shocks fit your requirements.

My guy at the local auto parts did the research for me. He got me the front shocks from a late model (I think it was a '95) Toyota RV. I had to remove the bushing on one end to fit. But they worked great.

Then again, the "Toxic Shock" shocks are very inexpensive. You can get them online for right around 40$. The OEM replacements at the local auto parts should be around 20$. I would hardly consider that expensive. If you want cheap, then you might want to try your nearest junkyard. Other wise hit up Oreilly's or Autozone.

Toxic shocks are just OE cheapo shocks with a pretty sticker on them.

I would have to disagree with you on that one, gravity5. I bought toxic's to replace the stockers on the rear of my '86 B2000. There was a very noticeable difference in the construction and ride of the shocks. Beefier and alot more stiffer. But that is from my own personal experience...

Yeah, they might be better than the OE worn out shock that was on their....but the set I had was nowhere near as good as my bilsteins or my belltechs.....I am just biased though.

Ive heard the Toxic shocks are just rebranded Monroes. If someone has a set let us know the numbers stamped on the side of them and we can cross reference them. I got a set of monroes and they looked just like the toxic shocks.
