i am not considering doing this but i was just wondering how this setup works. i heard so guys talking about this and it seems physicly [sp.] impossible for it to work the way i have it pictured in my head.

Bag over axle with leafs as the locating links....yes it works.....LIKE CRAP, I had it on my truck for like a year, its cheap, and easier cuz the leafs are already there...other than that, axle wrap, bouncy as all shi....

how does it work? do you unbolt on side of the leafs or what.

You leave everything on your truck as it is. The bags bolt on the leaf springs and to your frame above or near the axle. They are intended to be a helper bag for carrying large loads or a trailor but you can use them for lift/lowering. Usually, you run a mono leaf or your main and overload leafs with this setup for lift/lowering.

As gravity5 said, it is way cheaper than any link system and if you do upgrade to a link, you can use all of the parts again. I had one for about a year on my fullsize and I loved it, but them again I went from a static drop to the bags.

so if you let the air out how low does it go

As low as your suspension allows. Back in the day we built body dropped trucks that laid out with this setup. Basically you get the rearend to go as low as you can get it, with removing leafs, dearching, c-notch, step notch etc. Then you use the bags (that bolt to your leafs) to lift the truck to drive. I have tons of pics but its before the digital camera age. You should be able to find them if you google "firestone ride rite".

ok i get it now. the way these guys were talking you could lay out by doing it this way but i figured if every thing is bolted in place and you could still drag then something is broken. but these guys im refering to are about 99% full of pooo
