Well,I went to drive the truck tonight and when it got up to around 40 mph it started shaking really bad, felt like the left front, the steering wheel was shaking also.It doesn't do it if you stay around 35mph.I checked the lugs and all of them where tight.I'm going to check the balljoints tomorrow. This is my first truck so I'm still kinda new. What do you guys think it could be?Any suggestion's would be good.

i know you just bought this truck so you should definetly go over everything. go over the balljoints, all the steering components, power steering fluid. check your bagmounts and all you link bars in the rear also. hope this helps you start to find your problem......goodluck

Make sure all the wheels are not out of balance either

were the center bores machined on your wheels or were the tabs on the truck ground off?

I am having the same problem with my truck. I figured it was the tires since it sat for 6 years on them. I got new wheels and tires put on yesterday (pathfinders and 215/60/15 tires) and it vibrates worse now. I think the larger tire size makes it vibrate worse. Mine also vibrates around 55 to 65 mph.

I'm going to go ahead and replace all of my balljoints and tie rod ends. I will probably replace the wheel bearings also just to be safe.

Other than that Im not sure what else it would be. I might also try relocating my shocks a little closer to the end of the control arm. They are about in the center of them now.

If u r driving with the stock Mazda chrome wheels on ur truck, check them. They are notorious for being slightly out of round and causing low speed vibration such as u have. I went thru 10 chromies before I found 4 that would balance properly and even then I have a mild vibration at 50mph.The Mazda alloys are much less susceptible to being out of round.BJ

The hub on the truck was grinded down.I got the Z-71 rims on there. But it happen out of nowhere.I drove all day the day before with no problems but then when I went to drive it the next night,I pulled out of my driveway and when I got up to 40mph or so it started shaking. And a couple of other people mentioned the tires being out of balance. It kinda makes since cause I don't have shocks in the front.

Not to hijack the thread, but since we are having the same issue I will post my questions here also. Maybe both of our problems will get solved at the same time...

I rotated my stock 14s around a couple of times before putting the pathfinders on. it didn't matter where they were it still vibrated.

I had 185/60/14 on the stock wheels and just put brand new 215/60/15 on my pathfinders and put them on. I thought maybe the 14s were bad cause my truck sat in storage on them for 6 years. Well it still vibrates and it is worse now. I think the larger tires on the pathfinders make it seem worse since there is more rotating mass. It also change the speed it vibrates from 50-60 mph (stock 14s) to 55-65 (pathfinder 15s). I'm sure its showing up at a different speed cause of the different tire size.

I don't really feel the vibrations in the steering wheel which leads me to believe the steering is good. I know the boots on my tie rod ends are torn.

It almost feels like my shocks aren't controlling the up and down motion of the suspension. My shocks are new though. Maybe I will pull them off and make sure they haven't gone bad. It could also be the way my shock relocation kit is welded in. I know I hit a good pot hole the other day and it put a good crack in the weld on my lower mounts. I will take a pic and post it up to see what some of you more experience guys think. Its pretty simular to the way phatkix did his.

When u replace ur tie rod ends, put new poly bushings in ur front sway bar as well. That really helps a sloppy feeling front end.BJ
