OK I know that spindles are cast - but I have seen a few companies that have welded on the spindle. isn't that 2 dissimilar metals to be a strong bond between the 2 ?

to weld to cast properly you need to preheat it weld it with a nickel rod and let it cool very slowly.

I was just browsing the web and came across a set of titan lift spindles that had an extension welded to the top.

those look like whole new machined spindles....

can't find the listing now on ebay
the 6" lift spindles are machined spindles - but the ones in the 8 " kit have what looks like a tube welded to the top of the spindle. it was very visible in the ebay pics.

what are you thinking?

i've seen a guy make a lift spindle for an old car instead of a front axle for a "gasser"

is this what your thinkin?
