The diagrams on this website work perfect to get a good start on all your measurements. Make sure you basically measure everything on your truck (all cab and box mounts, engine placement, driveshaft, crossmembers)

Once the frame is cut up you can't go back and measure anyhting so just start by printing off the diagrams on this site and taking all the numbers first. then start cutting.

Why 2x4? Thats like a 1/4" bodydrop.

Go for 2x3

if you go the 2x3 route... use something heavier than 1/8 wall.shit i'd be tempted to go 1/4 wall.

say buddy i used 3/16 wall 2x3 an damn its strong!! but are you lookin to lay rocker?? i had to channel my floors an inch an it lays rocker like no ones bizzness !! an also make sure your gussets are good or you will regret it !!
an on a good note dont use a 120 volt welder use a 220 volt it gets great penetration into the box tubing an you wouldnt want it to be flimsy now would you?? lol
be easy
