I've been struggling with this question for years now. Is it possible to build a truck that is bagged, without having to cut out the bed floor or relocate the gas tank, and still be able to maintain the stock towing capacity? OK, I know it sounds like a miracle to perform, but I'm sure that's what everyone thought when the first person brought up the idea of a body drop!

I was thinking of possibly a 3 or 5 link setup with bags behind the axle. Possibley mounting the lower link bars on the leaf spring mounts or even relocating the leaf spring mounts further back towards the axle. This would keep from having to relocate the gas tank. And I could even raise the bed floor to keep from having to cut it.

Question is, will this set up allow for towing a 5' x 8' trailer with two GSXR-600 bikes?

well to raise the bed floor you are going to have to cut it and i think if you just bagged it without notching it and use behind the axle brackets you should not hit the bed floor with your diff

shouldn't make a difference with the towing capacity

it's completely possible to do what you want - no miracle or magic. you'll just have to sacrifice something(and from the sound of it, it'll be how low you'll go.) you can do a small c notch half way thru your frame rail and bag it as you mentioned, but youjust won't lay out. you'll be a few inches off the ground (depending on what size tires and wheels you go with)
or you can cut out the bedfloor and raise it and still lay out your truck, and still be able to haul stuff. if anything with a solid link setup and airbags you'll be able to haul a lot more and a lot heavier stuff. the link bars will hold your axle in place better and the bags will handle the weight better than the leafs.

hell, you can even run the stock bumper and ball on there if you want to. i'd get a pro quality hitch though, personally

YOU KNOW YOUR A MINI TRUCKER IF YOU BUY A 6" DROP HITCH AND FLIP IT UPSIDE DOWN TO HAUL YOUR TRAILER!

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO!!!! LOL!

speedster93b..you bring up an interesting point. I wonder if or how much the towing capacity and payload actually INCREASES due to changing from leafs to a link setup?

I like how he worked around his stock tank.

I plan to run air on my truck cause I wont to go lower with out the bad ride. And still be able to use the truck for small stuff

I tow a car trail with this.

Works better than a leaf setup. I wouldn't tow an enclosed trailor with a full size truck or car in it but an open trailor with a mini on it is just fine. This is where limit straps, check valves and all your safety shit are needed.
