i need to lower my rear about 2 more inches but i have already pulled out all the leafs i can and i have about a 3 1/2" block in it. i have some notches ready to be welded in and i can't afford bags yet but i want to hit some shows this summer and i don't want it to be the tallest thing there. any ideas on how to saftly do this?

Okay you said safly well first take your leafs down to a spring shop and get them de-arched and put them back in all of them don't run your truck without a full pack it is unsafe then put your block back in if the spring shop did they're job right your axle should be hitting the frame so now notch it.

you can push down on the bed and hear the rear end hit the frame so i'm going to definatly notch it and i've heard of dearching i'll try and find a place that does that.

these are the notches i made this is the only tube i had handy so thats why there so big. i tried to find a shop to dearch the spring but around here the all look at me like i'm stupid. in the last pic you can see that the spring are pretty low but it has those long "shackles" on it, is there any way to shorten those?

got under it today and the nothes are the same size as my frame so it should look alright

putting the notches in wont make you any lower unless the frame is always resting on the axle... as for lowering it.. pulling out the leafs bad idea i did it and about a month of driving the passanger spring busted that was interesting... you could alwyays order bigger blocks....

or put a tonoeu cover on it and throw 3 cinder blocks in it .. youll never see them then... my buddy did that a while back we got a good laugh outta it

as for completing the truck mine was just as bad as yours and a coat of wax a little elbow grease some paint stripper and afew cans of spray paint i think it came out looking decent for now... well at least it did till i started the motor swap now it has no bed no fenders
