thread post photo

As some of you know my trucks pretty high right now.. lol.

Im going to that IllConformity Summer Shocker in 2 weeks or so, What im planning on doing is buying a set of 4 inch blocks tonight, and putting them in. I also want to take 2 leaf springs out, and Re-index my bars so it will be how i had it before but a little lower.
thread post photo

Basically just want to get rid of the rake and have it tucking all around, even a little bit.

So the thing im wondering is how do i take leafs out?? I've never really fully understood how your supposed to do it. I dont think I'm going to take them out if you have to take the whole spring pack out of the truck. I have the feeling that stuff will start breaking if i do. Can someone please explain in detail how your supposed to do this?

Give me some advice..thoughts..opinions.. lol

u cant take out 2 leaves and have a 4" block. ull be axle on frame... i know.

there is and bolt that holds the leaf pack together in the center (that pin you centered your blocks on) and a nut on one end..(the bottom) you need to hole the top because it rounded with a vise grip or something strong and the loosen the nut with a ratchet and vwaulla, it comes apart, dont be dumb and do what the people who lowered my truck and put your leaf back in wrong, if you wanna go lower just remove your load leaf, its the most curved leaf, typically the one with the little curling tabs on each end, thats the one that gives youre truck the stance it has, i dont feel like typing anymore so if you have questions ask em and ill answer em best as i can

i believe the lowest combo i found was all leafs out with 3 inch blocks. granted, thats pretty unsafe, but if ur not putting anything in your bed you should be ok. just be careful, those leafs could snap when they are all by themselves.

i wouldnt do that, its so unsafe, you have no "rebound" that way, lowest combo which is a shitty ride, is main leaf and overload leaf on bottom

In my sig pic, you can see what 3" blocks, main leaf with overload and airshocks, and 215/65/15's look like.

Didn't you have blocks in before? Well, ya know the lil bolt that the center of the block goes over? That's the bolt you have to undo to take leaves out. It's not hard, I've had mine in and out 3 times now lol. For safety reasons I suggest having airshocks which allow me to take some of the pressure off the spring imo. I've just paid for Rutter's belltech springs though so I'll be "safe" then

In front I've flipped bj's upper and lowers, reindexed the bars, twisted the torsions, and removed the bumpstops. Rolling on Isuzu Monroe shocks (shorter than ours)

Oh yeah, my ride 90% of the time is not bad at all. Just gotta keep an eye out for the bigger bumps I've got about 1-1 1/4" of travel in front and back before hitting metal to metal, so this soaks up most normal bumps.

Also, there'a s lil bracket on the front part of the leaf stack that you'll probably have to bend to get the leaves out, that holds I think the e-brake cable.

Here's a shot of my monoleaf set up with 3" blocks and the air shocks with a bit of pressure.

This is me with 195/60/15 up front, and 215/65/15 on the rear. (I've now went to 195/50's in front and 215/50's in the rear...pics soon)

I could tuck front with the 50's if I turned the torsions down a bit further, but I'd only have about 1/2" of travel lol. As for the rear, with a 4" block mono'd I still don't think the rear tires would tuck on mine...Idk for sure.

And there are more pics in my photo post thread "1HotDawg"...including my "higher" pics.

if you look in i believe the first page of my post on the photopost section... i belive i called it took a few pics i had 3 inch blocks mono leafed reindexed torsions YOU might tuck since you have bigger wheels if there bigger overall diameter. but you may also have to have the frame notched i mono leafed my truck with 3 inch blocks and the frame layed on the axle

u wont tuck with a 4" block unless u take out the 2 middle leaves but then ull be axle to frame....remember i know. i have a 4" block and one leaf out and im not tucking. my front tucks pretty good right now but i have to get in there and fix a few things. pm me if u need an extra hand with the leaves, ive done it a couple of time on my truck now. where and when is the summer shocker anyway?
