alright fellas, iv been low for a long time and its comin time to buy new tires and get an alignment so im gona do somethin different. im gona lift it. for sure just torsions on the front end but what about the back? im goin as cheap as possible guys. im not wantin a crazy lift just a few inch over stock with some alright offroad tires. once again im goin cheap on them, i just wana go offroad for a while just because...then ill bag n drag. i aint made a final decision on how high to go or what size tires...but im prolly goin for it. any lited mazda pics? -bf

ok so my buddy has a pair on mudders on his sanoma and he saidi could have them for the price of 2 used 15s for him because these throw his speedo off and he doesnt need them. ok they are 31x10.5ss, so i could run 31s on the back then the smaller ones they make onthe front which are 235/75s or for $2 more i can get 30x9.5s, but they would rub i think. but another buddy got some aftermarket wheels on his tacoma 4x4 and said he could get me his wheels the double 3 spokes. i donno how they would look on my truck but i might try it. what do yall think on the tire issue?? -bf

by the time you get the tires mounted, spring over axle conversion done, new torsions, and all the other nitty gritty stuff, you could be halfway to bags. patience my friend, patience.

trashed is right, it is all about patience, even if it takes putting $20 away a week or hell $30 a month and you gotta wait 10 months thats $300. even if it takes a year or two its still worth doing it right the first not and not the 3rd believe me.

The tires are too big for the lil 2200 eng and gearing to pull well from what most say. Look up Limequat on here, his is lifted and he's got some good threads about it. In all reality you're not going to do much offroading with these lil 2wd trucks. But I understand wanting a better ride, and wanting to have some fun. Your best bet will be to go to the junkyard and get a set of the middle leaves from a junk Dawg and then add them to your stack. You will need longer bolts to hold the extra leaves I believe. Then crank your front torsions...maybe even reindex them to get you as high as you'd like...but most say it will be rough. You will most likely need some longer shocks too...maybe find some regular Monroes made for a bigger vehicle that will bolt up to the Dawg. This is all probably the cheapest way you'll be able to do it.
I've been up, and I've been down multiple times lol...all on the cheap. I wasn't really lift, but I was high enough to handle a bit of sloped terrain on only 215/65/15's. Now I'm slammed the right way with control arms, Suspension Technique torsion bars, and I've got dropped leaves I've still got to install. But really, I've almost got a stock ride...cept on big bumps I'll still bottom out the front to the bumpstop bracket...need Toxic shox for stiffness. I've got almost $300 in all that, plus another $240 in low pro tires all around.

But if I were to go up again, I'd do it via the junkyard leaves...prolly about $30, then on Mazdatrucking.com, Kyraiss makes 1" ball joint spacers for lifting the front a bit more...I think they're around $150 or less. I'd prolly only run something like a 235/65/15 or something near that for width and bulk, yet not as big as a 30"+ tire for gearing. And I'd find some shocks that'll bolt up from a higher vehicle to smooth the ride.

For me, I think our trucks look better dropped, but I do enjoy the ride of it at stock height or so. I find I keep it cleaner lower though lol...when she's high she's a dirty old beast Most of all, do what you want, dropped or lifted...it's your truck and you're the one driving it everyday.

yeaaaaa thats my bitch. um. you can do a 235 75 on the back, and you can put the same tire up front with the torsions jacked to the tits..HOWEVER they WILL rub turning lock to lock.

right now im running a 225 70 15 in the front, 235 75 in the back.

235 75 is about a 29"
225 70 is about a 27.5".

i dont recommend going any bigger as it will completely ruin your suspension geometry (on stock components)

but just be careful man. like me, you may never go back haha. im building a deck for mine, prerunner fenders, and offset wheels for next year. it rides like a cadillac compared to lowered.

though, i do miss the handling of a lowered truck....
