The tires are too big for the lil 2200 eng and gearing to pull well from what most say. Look up Limequat on here, his is lifted and he's got some good threads about it. In all reality you're not going to do much offroading with these lil 2wd trucks. But I understand wanting a better ride, and wanting to have some fun. Your best bet will be to go to the junkyard and get a set of the middle leaves from a junk Dawg and then add them to your stack. You will need longer bolts to hold the extra leaves I believe. Then crank your front torsions...maybe even reindex them to get you as high as you'd like...but most say it will be rough. You will most likely need some longer shocks too...maybe find some regular Monroes made for a bigger vehicle that will bolt up to the Dawg. This is all probably the cheapest way you'll be able to do it.
I've been up, and I've been down multiple times lol...all on the cheap. I wasn't really lift, but I was high enough to handle a bit of sloped terrain on only 215/65/15's. Now I'm slammed the right way with control arms, Suspension Technique torsion bars, and I've got dropped leaves I've still got to install. But really, I've almost got a stock ride...cept on big bumps I'll still bottom out the front to the bumpstop bracket...need Toxic shox for stiffness. I've got almost $300 in all that, plus another $240 in low pro tires all around.
But if I were to go up again, I'd do it via the junkyard leaves...prolly about $30, then on Mazdatrucking.com, Kyraiss makes 1" ball joint spacers for lifting the front a bit more...I think they're around $150 or less. I'd prolly only run something like a 235/65/15 or something near that for width and bulk, yet not as big as a 30"+ tire for gearing. And I'd find some shocks that'll bolt up from a higher vehicle to smooth the ride.
For me, I think our trucks look better dropped, but I do enjoy the ride of it at stock height or so. I find I keep it cleaner lower though lol...when she's high she's a dirty old beast Most of all, do what you want, dropped or lifted...it's your truck and you're the one driving it everyday.
