i went to my local air bag shop and was talking to the guy and he told me for bags on bars i should run a re 6 out back and front, but on here ive been reading that people 6s infront and 7s out back, what is a better set up. He said he will trade my 7s for 6s because there still brand new. Also he told me that my 4 link bars have to be a certain lenght and that i can't just make them how ever long i want? When i was talking to him it sounded like he was just trying to make me buy more and more stuff from him. I think i should rely on people on here since you guys aren't trying to just sell me stuff but actually get the right info.

Well for the re-6s out back we have run them and found the ride is a little ruff but with re-7s it is great and smooth as silk I do have to adjust Cid's pinion a little as he gets mad hieght in the back.

thats what the guy said that i would get too much lift and it would change the drive shaft angle too much. I was also wondering if it gets too much lift then if i could mount them towards the rear of the bar or would that make the ride worse then runing the re 6s.

in my opinion the re 7s are badass, clean and smooth ride. i couldnt tell you about the re 6 cuz never used em. it sounds to me like the shop was trying to get u to buy more crapt, ive seen this at alot of shops, especially down south. are you looking for mad lift?? i think the closer the bags are to the bars the more lift you get.

Both will work fine...I prefer to run a 6 because I like a stiffer, but by no means uncomfortable ride...they will still be softer than stock at lower ride heights. As for the link bars he is right to a certain extent....

i was thinking of putting them closer to the front of the bars but he said it will get too much lift and that it wouldn't work with the drive shaft. but if thats the case i can always limit to what height it will go to. I want a nice smooth ride so i think ill stick with the re 7s

IMO, a 7 is going to be better, but a Contitech rides better over the axle than a Slam bag does. Slams are just too stiff to go right on top of the axle. 8s would be even better. But for the best ride if you're set on over the axle, would be a sleeve bag. Its meant to go there, and is meant to ride well mounted that way.

sorry if i got people confused, im doing bags on bars not over the axle.

my lower bars are 33" long from pivot to pivot. my bag is mounted 11" from the front pivot, i get a lot of lift but it's squishy as hell. i won't do it again. it doesn't do anything weird with my pinion angle, or driveline or anything. it works fine, i just personally don't like it. you will be better off with longer bars rather than shorter. too short and you'll get more of an arc during travel, which will only move your axle foreward and backward
(it'll look like your tires aren't centered in your wheelwells.) a longer bar has a bigger arc radius and makes it less noticible. as for the 6 or 7 inch bag... they'll both be cool for your truck. whatever dude.

ya im stickin with the 7s and not dealin with them. I dealt with airassisted.com and they seem to have very good service.
