MY upper A-arms are starting to seep grease so I suspect the bushings are shot.Rather than pull the A ARMS AND REPLACE THE BUSHINS,i WOULD LIKE TO SAVE SOME WEIGHT AND GO WITH THE cANDO ALUMINUM ARMS.hOWEVER LAST TIME i CHECKED THEY WERE 600 pesadas per side-a bit pricey in my opinion.Anyone have any experience with the Cando arms taht is not running bags or an altered suspension? My truck has stock ride height and is built for performance not dragging.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I would also like input as to their durability as my truck gets driven, sometimes pretty hard.BJ

I might have read it wrong but I thought Steve was selling his arms for $600.00 for both sides.

The Cando arms are not aluminum. They are also intended to be used with drop spindles, and the taper needs to be machined for them to fit the spindle since they run an S10 balljoint. Also, these will not save you weight, they are heavier than stock arms. They are also under $700, for all 4 arms.

I wouldn't run an aluminum a-arm anyway.

So u r saying they will not fit a stock application? If so,r there any alternatives to the stock a -arms that are durable and r lighter? I assume one solution would be to "swiss cheese"the stock arms, but I do not want to create stress fractures either.???BJ

Are you really worried that much about saving weight? The stock arms weigh what 2 lbs? A tube control arm weighs easily twice that.

And the Cando arms are not meant to work with stock spindles, but probably would with a little work.

Rather than focusing on weight, and maybe trimming 2 lbs, I would focus on power.

I got the power part taken care of-unsprung weight reduction helps handling a bit as well. Thanks for the input though.Looks like I will put new bushings in the stock arms and drill a few judiciously placed holes here and there and ride on.Thanks again.BJ

Try a dimple die. You can safely remove material, and it will strengthen the arm.

Also IRS is great for unsprung weight.

True on the IRS,but for our trucks that means RX-7,early 929s or an exotic like early Jag and I really dont want to get into that much Fabbing.Plus I just had a one piece aluminum driveshaft built with Spicer joints to fit the Maz rear and I finally got my wheels and tires sorted out and I dont want to do a 5 lug swap in the front end. Thanks again for the good info.BJ
