thanks for the info seth. ima start trying to source me one locally. what exactly to you have to do for the driveshaft. lenghthen it? or shorten it? have any idea how much? hate to keep asking questions just already trying to figure out my rear setup plus figuring out clearance issues so any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know just yet. I have the drive line from the pre-85 truck. I'm hoping its the right length to just bolt in, but we will see. The slip shaft looks like ti may be different, but with luck that could be swapped from the stock shaft. Like I said, I'll do a write up when I get there.

the pre 84 driveshaft and the 86-93 driveshafts are definatly different.

The yoke on the 86+ are bigger and the rear houseing flangs are different. I thought they were the same so I went to the junkyard and got one and I was wrong.

where did you find that? just curious cuz when i looked if up (online), i found that the track for the front was at or near 55.1" and the rear was like 55.5"
but now i can't find anything on it at all????
u know what, tomorrow i'll measure mine!

Googled it, and searched SSM. Found the same answer in two places and assumed it was correct. I can measure the truck in the garage to find out for sure.

i measured mine and its about 58 3/4" - wms to wms.

okay so we know that for sure now we just need to find out the exact measurements of the pre 86. and this may be dumb but what is wms? i know its abreviations but for what?

It stands for Wheel Mounting Surface.

And we already have the pre-86 measurement. Its 54.5" wide. I posted that earlier.

okay those are the numbers i was hoping to see. have any idea about the driveshaft information? and was also wondering seth if you have something showing how you are piecutting the uppers. i think im goin to pull my drop spindles back off and pie cut the uppers so i can get some more camber and tuck a little better. thanks for the help by the way.
