Alrighty guys i have alittle problem.... i have converted my truck to 5 lug in the front using toyota spindals i believe to b off a 90 yota? Well my problem is the tie rod ends..the mazda stock ball joints seem to be 2 small for the yota taper. When i tightn them down i believe this is minimizing the travel of the tie rod ends. I have had 3 ajustment screws bend on me and 1 even snap in half :0 luckely i was in my driveway when it did. I was wondering what i can do to solve this problem. I only know of some people welding the yota and mazda together that doesnt seem real safe but i guess that would be better than whats going on now. Can you get yota inner and outer tie rod ends and swap both on the mazda? Any ideas guys? thanks

i dont understand why people think its unsafe..if welded properly its totaly safe

Toyota tie rods won't fit the Mazda steering linkage, way different.

Personally I would get a piece machined, thats identical to the Mazda adjuster, and put the Toyota threads on one end. But I'm one of those "anti-ghetto" assholes.

aren't they cast iron?
to properly weld to cast don't you need an oven and preheat that shit for it to be a proper weld?

Yah cast needs to be preheated before you weld it.

Well is there anyplace that would weld those for me or is there liability problems? And about geting an ajustment piece machined i dont c what you mean cus the yota outer tie ends have a male end and my mazda has a female end?

i have the stuff for the swap and i was thinkin get some dom tubing and there each end. one to accept the mazda inner tie rod and the yota outer?

Not only does it need to be preheated, it needs to be welded with a specific wire or rod, and gas. Or stick welded with a specific rod.

well i sleved mine i used the toyota outer and the mazda inner. i took a piece of chromoly and weled it to the toyota outer and the jam nut off the stock mazda outer and i got another jam nut for it, so that it still has a jam nut and it works great and an added bonus it u can still adjust it just like factory , and its that easy
