Does any one know a good source for polyurethane leaf spring bushings. I've gone to Autozone and Advanced auto parts and neither had OEM replacements that they could order. I was looking at them and they seem to have an outside dia. of 33mm (1.25") and the inside dia. aka the dia. of the bolts seems to be about 18mm (.7") while the width is about 60mm. Please Someone Help Me I'm a Noob

I found some universal pivot bushings on energy suspension's web site but couldn't find an easy way to get the inside diameter to fit around the shackle bolt. So I just broke down and order the stock bushings from a Mazda dealer. God that was disappointing as hell.

energy suspension doesnt offer a kit for the 86-93's (see link)
but they do offer one (which is mislabeled, says 93-97) for the 94-97 trucks....this kit will partially work, there are three size bushings in it, you can only use two of the sizes, one fits the leaf spring eyes, and one fits the shackle eye. problem is that you will end up short on the ones for the leaf spring eyes, so (what I did) call energy suspension and give them the bushing # stamped in the end of the bushing (i think it is 6051 but dont' hold me to it), and they will send you 4 more halves that will give you a complete set for the leaf spring eyes. now, before you install the ones in the leaf spring eyes, one of the halves will need to be trimmed @ a 1/4 off of the end that goes into the eye for each leafspring eye, because if you put the two halves together they will be wider than the leaf spring itself. also before you install the ones in the front eyes, the outer part of both halves will need to have between 1/16" & 1/8" removed/shaved so that it will install in the mount on the frame (if you look inside the front mount, the two screws that hold the pin/bolt into the mount screw into two fixed nuts, and these nuts cause interference with the total width of the bushings. this little bit of clearancing will save you much grief & agrivation.

I think I ordered my bushing kit from summit for like $35, and they mailed the extra 4 bushing halves for free....

Hey thanks I'll have to make a note of it if I ever get around to upgrading the bushings now since I already bought and installed the factory replacements. I had to grind the rust out of the bushing eye on the frame with a die grinder and a carbide bit last night to get'em to rotate properly.

I took a look at your pic's for a while I was going to rebuild my engine and use some dellorto side drafts. Your paint looks pretty good.

no prob, glad to help....the side drafts will look sick, and preform pretty good, but if you want the looks & seamless function the tmw induction or extrudeabody's with fuel injection are the way to go. as far as the paint, if your talkin 'bout the teal green truck in my alblum, that is hocbj23's truck, it will be a awhile before mine looks that good.
