Ok, so my exhaust and brake lines is all that's keeping me from driving my truck.... After 5 years in the shop, I am ready to go tear up some rockers and some asphault, but I bolted my exhaust up the other day, and it's going to drag. It hangs below the frame.. What did you guys do?

BY the way, I have an aftermarket muffler, and have the stock exhaust manifold..

congrats on getting her going, 5 years is a long wait & I know how anxious you are, I just thought about that the other day, I've been working on mine for 3 years now & can't wait to tear up the streets with it!

you said your running the stock exhaust mani & aftermarket muffler, but how much of the stock exhaust do you have inbetween the mani & the muffler? I know that stuff probably hangs below the frame, 'bout the only solution is to have a pipe made to fit inbetween the mani & your muffler that won't hang below the frame rail.

well I have it all the way out to right behind the cab. I have thought about running a new pipe from the pre-cat back, but I ain't sure how small I could go without choking down the engine.

wouldn't go any smaller than 2 1/4", I think the factory stuff is like 1 7/8" but won't swear to it...

I used the stock exhaust tubing to build a new exhaust system. Took about 2-3 hours and it was free.

you got any pics of it?

I didn't take pictures. Its pretty easy though. Just use the existing bends to create something that works. I shortened the downpipe, and just went from there.
