what exactly is it? and what does it do? i'm driving 1000 miles down to LA this weekend and i remembered people mentioning it. will it affect my trip?
twisted minis   +1y
When the axle twists with the wheels due to excess leverage against the leaf springs.

you'll be fine.
from thunder bay, with 4" blocks i drove to....
winnipeg,MB (800km)
sudbury,ON (1000km) x3
duluth,MN (400km) x5

i think it is really only present when your accelerating, if your at a constant speed you should be cool.

pinion angle and all the rest of it are a different story

so i shouldn't accelerate as fast as i can? and my blocks aren't angled, they are just flat.

and what happens to the axel when it twists?

your pinnion trys to point up. an with a 4'' block you should really concider gettin angled shims to correct that pinnion

no i have a 3" block, pepehn had a 4

oh my bad

your axle twists and causes u-joint bind. if it binds hard enough it'll break. i dont think a mazda motor even has enough power to worry about it too much as long as you arent like droppin the clutch real excessively.

damn. my current wheel diameter is bigger than stock so i kinda have to accelerate harder to be the same speed.
