what size speaker wire do i use to wire my valves? i am thinking 12 gauge. is that right?

Switchbox to valve wires can be 18 AWG wire. I like using speaker wire because it is paired, so one wire can be used for the fill valve, and one used for the dump valve. If all of your valves are in one place, you can purchase some '9 wire' cable from any car audio shop and run a single cable with 9 wires in it to your vavles.

Yeah 18 gauge is all you really need. I usually get some 6-16 wire. Then I run the power wires to the rear valves, which uses 4 wires, then one for a pressure switch, or two if you have them. Then I do the same thing for the front. I don't like having a lot of extra wires ran out back.
