ok, i have no idea how i got involved in this, but i am, so here goes....

My best friend has an 83 b2000 sundowner. he's had it since we went to highschool together. he's always talked about bagging it, and now he's serious. like dropping it off t me shop in the next couple of weeks serious. problem is, i cant find diddly squat to bag this truck with, or information on how to go about it. the one other car ive bagged had a kit availible with all the bracketry, c-notches, etc. so ive never engineered one from scratch.

anyway, my questions are:
1. is there a kit availible for this truck?
2. will the parts from an 86 on up work?
3. if no to both the first ones, how have you done it?

thanks for any help you can throw my way. i tried googling it, but came up with nothing.

#1, There is no kit well, okay.
#2, what parts are you referring to wellllllllll no none of them will work
#3 Use a torsion kit of front like you would bag a 86-93 it will work just fine. I am current useing the stock cups but I had to notch the shit outta them to barely clear my bag and I barely lay on a 205-40-16. So therefore I recommend the torsion kit to anyone witha pre 84. Maztangs 83 has this setup and it looks better performs better and you just dont have to worry about rubbing a bag.

On the rear do it just like any other minitruck, your standard 4 link. Notch, etc etc etc.

Only trucks that are bolt on easy are S-10s, You just get what you need to work, Get a torsion bar front kit, Measure for a 4 link, get a notch or do a complete backhalf, and then figure how he wants the rear set-up, IE Bag on Bar. Bag over axel etc. Minitrucking ISNT BOLT ON!

and why is that my friend?

I will leave this conversation at this, and this way only. I would much rather see someone bolt some shit up thats proven to work over and over again. Than try to do some shit they have no idea of and hack it together and pray it holds and eventually snapping and putting other innocent peoples life in danger.

sorry i didn't see this til just now.

there are no real kits for anything other than s10s. you can buy an air ride kit or build your own from devb22 on this site. great dude to deal with and will do you right!

2- no, none will work.

and 3- the rear is a usual rear. the front depends on if you want negative camber or not as usual, pie cut the upper control arms for less neg. camber and just cut away for the rest haha. i can take some pics for you of my truck here soon. 1 thing i really suggest doing if you have the skills and that is to z the frame at least about 1.5 inches. if not, when you lay the front out and raise the back like i love to do you will drag lower control arm. also, you will want to build a gaurd for the oil pan. i know from experience . the oil pan is right out in front and will get jacked up if you are to low.

let me know if you need anything.
