do i have to mod the inner of this rim for it to fit or will it fit right on? i have a 86 2wd b-2000? i just hope someone can save me from taking off a rim and tire in the cold its been snowing here in CT the last couple days, and i just got my rims, tires should of been here last week, i called them to find out what was going on, but the guy in florida said my CC didnt go through and he tried calling me, but he wrote down my number wrong so he couldnt get ahold of me (which i think is all BS because i still have plently of funds available on it, and i think they were out of stock)

i ask because someone on ebay told me i have to make the inner diameter bigger for them to fit, when i enquired on a couple sets, but after i already purchased a set. and when i get my tires i will just go get them mounted.. i assume this is a simple question for people on this forum..

instead of altering the wheels you should just grind the tabs off your hubs, then if you change wheels in the future you wont have to bore them either

i was wondering why i couldnt do just that.. so i assume our wheels are hub centric? and if so whats the purpose fo those tabs?

some people say the tabs help hold the wheels on but in my opinion thats what the lugnuts are for. i dont think there is anything wrong with grinding them off. i did and my wheels never fell off. some people recomend you remove the lugs to prevent damage when grinding but if you use heater core hose and slide pieces over them it will protect them. because you WILL bump them. just grind them flush, have fun it took me a while.

don't use the stock lugs with the eskies.... you need self centering lugs.... they have like a v shape to them..... also when grinding.... since you shouldn't use the stock lugs... put them on the studs all the way down... so if you bump it and your going to its hard to not bump it atleast once... you dont' fook the studs up

i had the same problem with my old z71 heels... i just used 1/4" spacers and grond the tabs down flush with the spacer so the z71's would sit flush w/ no problems. with my 22's i spent 150 getting them all bored out bigger... just make sure you dont have tires mounted and it will be cheaper... instead of dismounting the tires, boring the rims then remounting the tires again....

just my .02

This is very important!! You NEED to use self-centering/conical lug nuts...get the open nut type so you don't bottom out on the wheel stud!

Other then that you will be fine! I have done this personally and no problems at all!

the stock lug nuts were junk so i threw them out and purchased a set like these below but in black at autozone for like 30$ , then i found out i needed to go buy another kit since there was only 16 lug nuts lol duh.. but the package says

"acorn nuts, buldge seat" i think i will be fine with them right? i believe there tapered self centering ones.

i'll just grind them off then..

Yes, you definitely want an acorn nut with the bulge seat. You can buy stock style lugs like this without the extra expense of the chrome and the hassle of having to cut the tops off of the ones you pictured. I run the brushed eskies with the tabs ground off and no problems to date. Welcome aboard!
