if you are going with a basic system and speed is not a concern then you can even go 1/4 line but I would say go 3/8 with all 3/8 fittings and you will be fine

ok sweet, not worried about being really fast.

1/2" line and 1/2" valves is ridiculous fast, 1/2" line w/ 3/8" valves is nice but still fast enough to not be like Air Ride Technologies, haha

with 1/2 valves and 1/2" line... you can hop your front end with at least 160psi in you tank... it is very very fast... i have 1/2" on front for lift and dump.... i'm gonna redo it with 1/2" lift and 3/8" dump once i get the rear installed. i like the fast ass 1/2" valves dont get me wrong but i paid 100.00 for 8 3/8" valves, a viair 380c, and a water trap...(all new in boxes, never installed) so thats the only reason i'm doing it.
