Ive been looking for awhile now with no such luck. I'm looking for a set of braided stainless lines for the front of my truck, i'm surprized the metal ones havent broke yet from moving so much from being bagged. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Flexible stainless? Or hardline stainless? Hardline stainless will get brittle faster than mild steel with movement.

If you want flexible stainless lines, get some made. Any good "Brake shop" will do it. And I don't mean Midas. I mean a specialty brake shop that does nothing but brakes, and works on everything from rigs to light duty trucks and cars. They will make you some custom ones, or even have some pre made lengths with interchangeable ends. I just had a few made for the back of the Nissan. Cost me about $60 for two custom lines with standard fittings on one end, and metric on the other.

Got to remember there Twisted that u live in the land of the fruits and the nuts, with a specialty car shop on every street corner.I would bet there isnt a shop in Chattanooga that would or could custom build me a brake line.Thank goodness mine isnt bagged so a braided stainless stock length line works fine from Goodrich (not the tire company).Any of the specialty shops out there do custom work if u just call and ask them if they will do something?Thanks- not trying to flame ur post but u r luckier than some of us re location.BJ

Do you think that just because I live in CA that its easy to get stuff? There isn't as much stuff as you think out here. So Cal, yes, but not where I live. There just happens to be a good brake shop in the area (about 40 miles away from me). But any decent brake line will stock the universal stainless lines, which is what I got. You would be surprised how hard it is to outsource anything out here.

You can also get stainless lines made at Napa Auto Parts and bearing supply houses. But hey, if you don't want my help, I just won't offer ti anymore.

Hey guys lets all calm down and help the guy....this isn't the other forum. But really Napa makes em? Do they do larger lines....say 3/8"?

Depends on the actual store. Most of them just make hydraulic lines, but some do stainless. I have never seen them do anything larger than 1/4" though. Some places refuse to make them just because they don't want to. I once had a guy flat out tell me "no" when he was standing in front of a sign that said "We make custom hydraulic lines." Usually the ones that carry trailer supplies are better about it because they have more people that know how to use the machine.

thanks for the info seth, and others! I know what ur sayin bj, i'm from a small town, and i have to drive 50 miles to find any good shops. Ill cruise down to napa after my class's tommoro see what they can do. Dont really have any brake shops out here. I found some on ebay, but 130 bucks is way to pricey for lines!

I have a '87 Z24, so I'm on quite a bit. In process of getting it restored/roadworthy/custom! lol This thread is pretty recent about stainless lines from ebay. $50 + shipping not bad, and they are getting nothing but good words from everyone that got them! Thought you might like another option.
