Okay i just got my first b2200 i went from a 01 neon to this truck and am a little lost... lol with the car i went from stock to slammed and back probably 6 times and i knew coilover suspension like the back of my hand.... if anyone could give me a little insight to get my truck lowered without tearing up my tires on a very tight budget.... that would be excellent... i already have 3 inch blocks for the back but i want to go lower thanks

all of my leafs in the rear except the main and the helper have been removed with 3in blocks and reindexed torsion bars in the front

what do you mean by reindex? sorry about all the questions man

Put your truck up on jackstands all the way around (under frame, not suspension). Release the tension on the torsion bars by loosening the anchor bolts. There is one on each side about in the center of the door opening. Once all of tension is off of the bolt, remove it. Then you can pull the whole torsion bar out of the splined socket on the control arm. To "re-index" the bar, re-insert it into the splined socket with the adjuster arm twisted higher towards the frame, four or five teeth should be a good start. You want to keep the adjuster tucked tight to the frame, so you don't catch it on the ground. By moving it up there is less twist on the torsion and that equals less ride height Also, try to keep both sides similar in the amount you move the adjuster. This will help out later when fine tuning left to right. It will be trial and error to get the desired ride height and indexing on the t-bars, but you will be rewarded with a great ride and low stance. PS the key to this is very short shocks and no bump stops. If your ride seems really stiff, look to suspension bind as the culprit, ie...shocks bottomed out or lower control arms touching the frame.

Great job explaining man i really appreciate the help as soon as the motor gets done in my truck i will be posting some pics i just bought some 18 inch escalade wheels and am ready to get "truckin" o by the way once i "re-index" the T bars how low of a stance can i achieve?

depends on how many teeth you re-index it. You just gotta try different settings. As outkastdawg said I would start with a reindexing of 4 splines... (maybe even 3 to get you started) Btw a tip a freind of mine gave me when I first dropped my mazda was to get a piece of chalk and mark a line on the torsion bar and the mount it slips into. That way if you really have to beat on the arm and it comes popping out you know where it was before and where to start from. Worked for me!

actually i copied and pasted that from another post i just forgot who wrote it...lol thats mine in my signature its about 2-3 inches off the ground you can also flip your lower ball joints to the top of your control arm which will give you another 3/4" in the front

how bad will that eat up my tires on the front? is there any way to ajust the camber so the top of the wheel wont be in so far?
outkastdawg   +1y
yeah just take it and have it aligned

if your running 18's then just flip the ball joints and twist the torsions a little bit. you wont have to worry about reindexing them because you wont be twisting them enough to need it.
