the wheels are centerline archers 20.0 x 8.5, 5.4" backspacing
my b2200 is Body Dropped 3.5"

I would say around 4 inches. I believe that on a 8.5" wheel you need around 7" of backspacing so if your wheels have 5.4" that means that your wheel would stick out an extra 1.6" x 2 sides would be 3.2" so I would go 4", maybe even 5" just to be safe.

Or you could find a ford courier rearend. I believe they are 4" narrower than a stocl mazda. Not 100% sure though..

so would you do 4, 4.5 or 5"? remember it is bd 3.5"
also if i shortend it to much i could just get spacers right?

my rearend is 54" wms-wms. my 20's have 5 3/8'' wms to lip BS and there's less than an inch between the bedside and wheel layed out.

Did you narrow the rear of your frame? I mean you can only narrow it so much... bodydropped or not..

and yea you could get spacers, I'm not sure what thickness though.

i'm bd 3.5" also. i didnt narrw my frame its stock right now. it'll be narrowed when i build the rest of the frame under the cab 'n' the backhalf
there's a cell phone pic in my garage if u wanna see...

so how much did u narrow your rearend?
speedster93b   +1y
i have a toyota rearend but the stock mazda is 58 and some change... maybe a half? so if u went with 4-4.5" total you'd be good. depending on the tire bulge... remember to take that into account
