i have a 92 b22 cab plus sportin a 22r engine swap & a 4 speed yota tranny
my problem is its wayyyyy to low geared

like just cruising bout 35mph i pretty much have to keep it in 4th to keep it from whineding
i really couldnt imagine this thing on the interstate

what year 5 speeds will work with this setup to make me not so low geared
& what kind of rearend could i put in to help the problem?

thanks

I'd get a yota 5 speed from a 88 to 93 model truck. They were avalible. You could also swap to a Yota rear. They were avalible with several different gear sets and the center chunk is interchangeable. You can even get custom gears through Downey off road. There is not much avalible for the factory rear though.

22RE seems like a good swap.

should fit well and has decent performance

I loved my 22r I had shaved head, port and polish, cam, header and weber on my 86 Yota. 88-93 tranny is a good choice, My 86 4wd was geared good, almost a little on the high side when I put 32s under it

yes i bought this cab plus mainly because it already had the 22r in it...with only 80k on the original engine, saved me alot of trouble seeing as tho i was gonna put a 22r in whatever i bought anyways..
