I've got a 93 b2200 regular cab short box and i want to static drop it a few inches (not enough to scrape the huge speed bumps at my college). I've got 225/60R16s all the way around and don't have 4x4 bodywork, so i know i cant go to low without rubbing the tire on the outer wheel well rim (it happens when i go over a rolling bump). I know all about blocks in the back, but the front end is a mystery to me. I've heard about turning torsion bars and flipping ball joints, and of course drop spindles, but what can i do easily and for little money (COLLEGE IS SUCKING ME DRY!). Keep in mind that i live in Canada, and this truck will be driven in the snow, so i don't want to use my front bumper as a snow plow. And could you estimate the rough cost of the parts and how hard it would be to reverse it.

*I can't figure out how to attach a pic of my truck, so check it out in the garage to see the rims, they're pretty wide (great traction)

crank those torsion bars down......thats free and you can put it back whenever you want for the snow. just make sure you turn both sides the same amount!!!

jack the truck up and crank on the torsions ...

when the torsions get too low re-index em ..

be sure to remove the bump stop and then cut the bracket .. you do not need it ..

if you remove the bump stop and dont cut the bracket it will hit it and clank all the time..

how wide are the front tire's your running, and what's your backspacing?

ya, crank the torsions, and get blocks for the rear. if you want it to go lower get smaller tires, or some different wheels. i am rolling on esclade wheels, with some low pro tires... great stance. if the blocks dont bring it down enough, take leafs out. i did a 3 inch block in rear, and doesnt sit low at all. looks stock to me, so i am going monoleaf this weekend. i will have pictures up with jsut the blocks, wheels and torsions. btw i have some pictures posted of my truck with the same size tire you have...

Blocks are a cheap drop. $35 w/tax at autozone for 3" drop. Front torsion adjuster bolts were a nice gold color like the new U-bolts. No rust on them, dropped real easy. Went 3 turns on the passenger side & 5 turns on the driver side. (Truck has always sat higher on driver side). It doesn't now though, both sides are 27" to the top of fender arch. Will be cutting extra U-bolts off this weekend after the torque is rechecked. Everything took about an hour, but I did have it on the lift and was walking around under it.

What do u mean by bracket?
Dont u remove the bumpstops with a nut on them? r u talking about removing what the bumpstop is attached to?

Im confused even a picture would be good if doable..

THEN Re index the torsion bars?
whats that mean take em out and line em back up? and re drop it?

yes, the bracket that the front bumpstop is connected to .. cut it off .. its gunna hit clang and makes noises or siimply sit on it and u cant go lower . when you remove it you have clearance .. i can get a pic if needed ..
