Brake upgrade options?

I'm tossing an idea around in my head to make my Mazda a dual purpose vehicle, with the second purpose being towing. I have the requirements for drivetrain, suspension, and frame modifications sorted out, but I'd like to know what my options are for upgrading the front brakes.

not sure exactly what you are wanting to tow with your mazda.... but a relatively easy brake upgrade is the 03-07 (classic) chevrolet spindle swap. it will upgrade your braking capacity in the front considerably. check the forums "projects" and look for josh's mazda thats sitting on 24's... then you can pm him and talk to him about the spindle swap.

You can get a 13" front brake upgrade but its very pricey from

i consider it relatively easy. josh actually made control arms to be able to tuck his 24x9.5" wheels. he didnt make them specifically for the spindle swap. all you would need to do for the spindle swap is re taper the spindles to adapt the spindle to the stock mazda ball jopints. THAT is relatively easy.

hahaha. its all relatively easy! hahaha. but the stock arms will work with the silverado spindle swap. you "may" have to extend the upper a tad to make up for the height difference. you can get bolt on upper and lower balljoints from moog that will handle the spindle swap and angles to lay it out. i made control arms becuse i made them about an inch longer then stock to get more lift out of them.
