ANY ONE HELP ME OUT? IM ABOUT TO PIE CUT THE UPPERS TONIGHT, I LOVE CAMBER BUT WHAT AND WHY DO I HAVE TO MESS WITH LOWERS?

ALSO BY ADDING C CHANNEL TO THE FRONT FRAME FOR THE BAG MOUNT WILL I REALLY GAIN MORE LIFT? I UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF CLOSER THE BETTER BUT IS IT WORTH IT LOL? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->

just bag it as close to the frame as you can. yes cut the hump off and grind away the extra material left over. weld in your upper bag mount and nock up the bag to find the placement for the lower mount. drill a hole thru the bottom of the lower control arm so you can tighten the bottom bolt to the lower bag mount securly.
as long as you have the right offset (or 4x4 fenders with the lip rolled) then it should tuck. flip the ball joints and it will lower it a lil more. i have all stock suspension under mine right now... except for the airride brackets and airbags..... and it tucks... so go with what you have.

What?

The only things you do with the lowers is cut it out a lil bit so it doesnt hit the frame when you lay the truck out... and weld the lower mount on...

And c channel?? I don't know what you mean.. Is this the first time you've bagged a truck?? Mazda's probably aren't a good first try, haha.. Here's a few pics of mine... I cut into the frame to set the bag in closer to the pivot point on the frame... You can see the bag mount welded to the lower and the upper mount...

well im lookin at your lower arms and in the pic there is BJ missing... what needs to happen to the lower bj if i want to lay on a 20&quot; wheel
?

oh and no lol i have been more into s dimes and tacomas. lol i bagged this truck once already everything was fine untill BD. and now i need more lift, and im also workin on the 20&quot; tire wheel deal.

as long as i dont have the UCA connected i get the suspension to travel enough to lay on 26.5 inch wheel

but i lose 3/4&quot; with upper connected.... SO im looking to pie cut tonight. but i keep hearin stuff about lower BJ as well?????

oh and to answer about c channel....... thats what it looks like you used when baggin front, notch cut in the frame lol sorry yah im kinda learnin new tricks on this maz deal

Ok.. well my lower ball joint will be a lil different than most... If you are runnin mazda spindles then you jus need to &quot;flip&quot; the ball joint to the top side of the arm. I am runnin toyota spindles so i had to flip my ball joints to the top side of the arm AND physically flip the ball joint over.

And ya man, i think you should def do like how i did mine and notch INTO the frame so you can move the bag farther in... I'm baggin mine to lay on 20s with a 30 series tire... 25.3&quot; tall tire AND 2.75&quot; bodydrop so I'm needin MAX lift also. My front setup will def do that... At 100 psi i untuck my tire by 3 inches and im not bodydropped yet. So once I am, i'll jus untuck the tire at 100 psi. Which is acceptable to me

yesir, lol it stops me 3/4 inch i get 13 1/2&quot; fom center of hub to rocker without upper BJ on. 13 1/2 is HALF of 26.5 ISH lol SO with upper on im losin some.

ALSO FACT! LOWER BJ FLIP IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT SCREWIN UP YOUR SPINDLE. (ONLY USED ON YOTA SPINDLE) BJ IS ALREADY ON INSIDE OF ARM for MAZDA

also i found that if you space the lower bj up you gain alot of suspension play for layin on big wheels.

But im going to maybe cut the bag pockets into the frame rail tomorrow so i can stuff my rs6's as far into articulation point as possible.

Hmm.. interesting

Flipping the upper ball joint on a mazda means puttin it on the top side of the arm... but it really doesnt do anything. I wonder if pie cutting my uppers would make mine drop more..
layinsparxx   +1y
prolly just a little because you have to figure the arm has an arch and pulls the BJ up at least 1/4 inch, whe you pie cut you are dropping arm and making it FLAT, like the TUBE arms.

I BEEN LOOKING AT THIS SHIT ALL NIGHT lol LOSIN SLEEP MAN haha

But yah i also just for a tester put a nut under each one of my lower BJ bolts and spaced it higher within the Control arm and gained alot too....But makes kinda hard for me at this point due to not having bag mounts anymore.

Ok... well i went out and played with the ball joints a lil and took some measurements... It was quite surprising actually. The lower ball joint is locking out and restricting the amount of lift i will be able to get. And the upper ball joint is restricting the drop.. obviously I guess. I measured the tip of the spindle at full lift and full drop and there was only 9 inches of travel... That really sucks. If I unbolted the upper ball joint, I got another 2.5&quot; of travel up from the lower control arm. So I think I should reverse pie cut my uppers and I was thinkin bout puttin a couple washers under the outer 2 lower ball joint bolts to angle it up a lil and maybe get a lil more lift Here's a few pics to show you full lift and drop....
