i have a 92 b2200, sometimes its pops when taking off but not all the time. and other times just while driving down the road or hitting bumps. ive looked at it twice and havent found anything, didnt know if im overlooking something or what. its kind of a high pitched pop sounds like taking a wrench and tapping it on the exhaust or something? anyone ever had anything like this?

check the carrier bearing on the driveline the rubber goes bad and it will make noise

already checked it its good

is it engine noise or drive line noise?

does it happen from a dead stop only, or is it during hard or easy acceleration?

most likely a U-joint going out. They will echo up the drive line making that wrench tapping exhaust pipe sound. When it gets real bad it will sound like mice in a blender.

yea i already checked the u joints all that looks good too. it does it from dead stop sometimes, and also sometimes under hard and easy acceleration, and sometimes while just coasting. i do have an axle bearing going bad and roaring in the rearend, but i dont see how that could possibly be making the sound that im hearing. but hopefully ill change it this weekend and well see. any other thoughts

did you check the u-joint caps by removing them to see if they had any grease left?

just going by a past experience I have had dry u-joints that felt tight moving the drive line but were dry and shot.
