i know all of you are gonna say read, and ive been reading but a lot of this stuff is still over my head. i really dont even know where to begin. i would like to bag my lil truck and would like to body drop it too. but i dont have the frist clue of where to start learning. is there a complete kit i could get to start with that would include everything, to get a feel of how it all works? maybe i could install a kit get a good understanding of everything then start trying to come up with my own stuff. i only know one guy thats bagged a truck and thats what they did with his was get an entire kit. whats yalls best advice to a complete newbie?

I agree with getting a kit for your first one, that's how I learned, and eventually I understood enough to build my own 3 link and notch from scratch and I learned even more after that and am still learning

Try to find some videos people have made of their air suspension in action I'm sure that could help you put a picture to all the words you've been reading.

no i really dont know all the parts or what all they do, well i guess i dont anyways, i mean i know the obvious stuff, like the compressors, tanks, i know there are valves, do you just run one valve per bag or one valve per set of bags? other than that its all greek. i figure a kit would be a good way to start learning, i usually have to do it to really learn it. but i dont know what to look for in a kit, plus if i get a kit, i mean what has to do with how quick the bags fill up? the valves? cause if i were to get a kit i would want it to pop up quick. any one got any suggestions on a good complete kit?

hey josh your only an 8-9 hr drive from me maybe you can start swingin by on the weekends, lol

I'm in NC if you want to swing by sometime. I could show you a complete setup on a mazda and explain what why and where everything goes.

it is suggested you run 2 valves per bag, 1 for lift, and 1 for dumps. that's with an 8 valve setup that'll give you front, back, and side to side. you'll be able to control each corner of the truck independently.

Ok. . . Well for a basic bag setup, you have to have an air tank, air line, valves, air bags, fittings, and an air compressor. . . the compressor pumps the air and builds the air pressure and stores it in the tank. . the fittings attach the air line to the tank, valves, and bags. . the valves regulate where the air goes. . and the bags, when filled, lift the truck, and when deflated, lower the truck. .

On a "front/back" truck. . which means you can only raise the front and back. . not each side independently. . you have 4 valves. . 2 for the front, 2 for the back. . one for fill, one for dump. . On a "front/back/side/side" or "f.b.s.s." truck. . you can control each coner individually. . so you can lift the front, the back, or each side, or just one corner. . etc etc etc. . you have 8 valves. . 2 for each bag. . one fill and one dump. .

In the rear of the truck, you have to have some sort of axle locating setup. . because you have to take the leaf springs off to have bags. . . So you have to have a 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 link. . each link is how many "bars" it has. . 2 link has 2 bars. . 4 link has 4 bars. . etc. .

Thats all i got for right now. . I would definately take up Nick's offer (h20melon) and go check out a setup ON a truck. . It would really help you visualize everything. . Its definately a blessing to have those kinds of resources around. . so USE THEM! ! !

Hope I've helped a lil. . let me know anything else you wanna know about man! !

yea i appreciate the offer nick, i believe i will take you up on that one day. ill porbably wait till i get a lil closer to doing it but ill let ya know. i just wish i had some buds close by that could help me through it all too. i dunno guess im overwhelmed by it all to say the least, i mean i understand the way it works and all, im a diesel technician and work on 18 wheelers so im around airbags, one of our customers hauls cars for BMW with closed in trucks, but while they do have air bags there not to slam the truck on the ground, lol. i dunno i just dont know where to start for making a system. if im going to bag it i would want to body drop it to lay rockers for sure, and i know thats a whole nother task that i know nothing about.

no one has said anything about a complete kit yet, anyone got any advice on getting a kit? like a complete package i could start and learn with? i mean do i need to just get up with someone from the bag shack and get everything or what? thats the only place i know anything about, like i said if it werent for yall, and this website i wouldnt know the little that i do, theres just not a big popularity around my area i guess.

on the body drop subject ive read about 2 different kinds. what does each mean and what are the pros and cons?

i also was reading about people z-ing frames on here? i believe i finally saw a pic from maybe sleepspeeds truck so is that where you cut it at an angle then weld the rear half on top of the front half? and what is the purpose? does that do away with having to c notch it?

im tellin yall all this is very new territory for me if any of yall can put it in a good understandable book format start to fininsh with lots of pics....put me down for a copy.
