Hey guys my first post on here. I bought some chrome Silverado wheels for the truck last week and got them on the truck. Come to find out one of the wheels was bent. I go to remove the wheel and one of the lug nuts broke. I know how to replace the studs but Im not sure how to get to the back of them. So my question is how do you remove the rear brakes so i can change the wheel studs ? This will be done with no power tools.

first off, welcome to the scene.
i haven't had to deal with the rear end of my truck for some time, so i'm not completely sure. if you remove the drum, you might see some bolts that hold the axle into the diff. you may find that there is a hole in the mating surface that the rims actually bolt to, and that there are bolts that can be accessed through that hole when you rotate it. if you undo those bolts, the axle should come out. However, that is only if the axle is held in in that manner. hope that helps.
oh, and try putting some antisieze on the threads so next time the lug wont sieze and break a stud.

You dont need to pull the axle. Theres two threaded holes in the drum that you thread a bolt into and tighten to pop the drum off. You should be able to see the back of the studs once the drum comes off. No need to undo anything else.
