for the safety on my 92 i have to do the 2 lower ball joints. i'm used to working on stuff with coil springs.. never had to do anything on my previous b's so this is a first. figured i'd ask before i screw something up.

the question i have is: about how to support the lower control arm.. or do i need to?

as the suspension is hanging can i just break the spindle loose or ??

i read the tech on flipping the joints and seems nothing was supported, just unbolted and broke loose.

figured id double check

thanks

just do yourself a favor and don't pop the shocks and you should be fine..you will need to jack up the lower control arm after to connect the balljoint though..found the easiest way is to unbolt the upper ball joint from the control arm..pop the lower ball joint then change it and then reverse the process to install eveything again...they aren't too bad to do..pretty easy!

thanks for the tips/info.

i finally got to working on it yesterday. the tip about breaking the uppers loose really made it go smoother. other than finding that i need to replace the uppers also.. LOL i'm 1/2 way through it. doing the rotors/pads and servicing the calipers while all apart. managed to get the rear shoes, spring kit and ebrake cable done with the help of a friend. hopefully this thing will be on the road later this week.

also had someone donate a set of 2" lowering blocks.. just need to locate some u-bolts
