I'm putting a 302/5 speed manual into my mini "trophy truck" project. It's a B2600, so the axle in it should be a little stronger than the B2200 axles, but I'm still concerned about strength. I plan on driving it pretty hard.
I want to swap something into it that is already 6 lug. A Chevy 6 lug pattern would be fine because the wheels I have on it (KMC Rockstars) are drilled for both 6 lug patterns. I also want something with disc brakes. I would prefer to stay Ford (and preferably a 9"), but I can't think of anything that would be the right width except maybe an Explorer, but they're 8.8's if I read correctly.
Does anyone have a suggestion for an axle with 6 lug, disc brakes and the same (or close) width as the OEM B2600 axle?
thanks,
