when i bd my truck i didn't lower the core like everyone else did to lower the radiator down. i lowered the bumper brackets and body mounts. so i had a alum radiator custom made to my specs... wider, shorter and thicker. it was like $285 or $385 - somewhere in that area i can't remember it was in about 2004 that i did that

Well that is where I am now too. I did get a griffin alum. radiator and we are going to make our own shroud to mount it. We do not have to cut into the lower cross member, it will sit about half inch from it and the filler neck will be about half inch above the core support. We do not need to make a shroud but it will look cleaner and refunnel the air into the radiator as well as it being the mounting brackets. We could just make simple brackets but to tacky. The electric fan will be in between my condensor and the radiator. This will leave me with about an inch from the pulley. It is a three inch thick radiator too. I always see people notch the cross member and that is tacky looking but whatever floats your boat. Oh and by the way I lowered my entire core support too.
