So i am bagging and body droping my 86 mazda b2000, We started bagging it first and when we got to the front we set it on the ground and it was about a 1/2 inch from laying frame out so we had to raise the oil pan and lower control arm mounts up a inch to get it to lay frame now i have to rais the upper control arm mounts to match what i raised the bottom.. Never have heard of anyone having to do this to a mazda but i just wanted to see what yall thought about it.

The front crossmember sticks down about a half inch lower than the rest of the frame. Usually people just z the frame and just move the whole front end up.

It sounds as if you made a lot of work for yourself. I have my oil pan shortened and my cross member was only cut about half inch. Changing the geometry of the entire front suspension was out of the question. How did you raise the lower mounts? Did you cut the stock welds and raise that cross member? Just curious.

That sounds like a lot more work just for half inch.

Less work than what he did. Usually the frame only gets z'ed when body dropping too, not just bagging.

yeah just cut the stock weld's and raised it but i made a jig to keep it where it needed to be when it got raised.. i agree that it was alot more work but i think myself it looks alot cleaner than a z'ed frame cuz you cant even tell that the front suspension has been raised.. im working on raising the upper control arms now so that they match what i raised the lower's ill put pic's up as soon as i get done.

Also the frame wont lay flat unless the lower control arms come up with the oil pan x-member becuse they are the same hight, They hit the ground at the same time.. So i dont know if this was just on my truck or if every one's bagged mazda sit's a half inch from laying flat frame in the front..

from my understanding when you z the frame it moves not only the crossmember but everything up however much you z'd the frame... and seems to be the least amout of work to get the front to lay out ?????

just do what im gonna do and body drop the front a little more than the rear making the body lay flat.
