Ok i am about to start bagging the front of my 86 B2000 and im not real sure where to start so if i could get some tips that would be awsome! First question i have is the oil pan crossmember is keeping me from laying out, About a half inch away from laying, What needs to be done about that? Before i try something that is going to mess something up i want to get some input on what i can do to get the crossmember raised so that it will lay flat.

When you Z the front
what else do you cut besides frame

yah im just curious, because i have buddys that have bagged mazdas and they said they never had to z the frame to get the frame to lay flat out. whenever i lay my frame flat on the ground the oil pan crossmember is holding the front of the frame up about a 1/2 inch

they're not laying flat frame unless they have done some cutting on either the crossmember or zing the frame

Drag it!!!!!! You do not want to z the frame. Do not even think about tht unless its ur last resort. You will run into steering problems and you will never want to drive it cuz the bump steer is so bad. Drag it off, it is only half inch or you can make ur own cross member as I am going to do I think.

ummm if you drag a 1/2 into the cross member you will be really close if not into the bolts.... how fun would that be if you lost a bolt while driving down the road?

ya dont drag it off, if you z the frame you will need to notch the top arm just a bit to clear the steering rod, all you are going to need is to z the frame the 1/2" that is not that much and will not put things in to much of a bind.... and yes if you drag it off it will be close to the bolts.... you could weld the cross menber on and drag/cut it off but then your arms will be holding you up... same thing for them you can drag/cut off the part that is holding you up... if you reinforce the arm around the mount you can do it that way

when you z the front clip it moves everything that is on the front clip up... it doesn't change the geomotry of the steering....
