I'm currently doing a 350/5-speed swap in my 2200... Next I'm going to want to do he suspension to make it handle/drive more like a spors car. So, I'm going to do coil overs all around...

Just looking to save myself some experimenting and looking to see if anyone here's done it and how they did it. Any input would be appreciated!

that's a good Question Bro...

Here is another one, the A frames that hold the Ball joints on your B2200 are designed to hold the weight of a 4cy ........ I know most hotroders Change out the frot clip with Aftermarket Mustang 2 A frames due to the Fact the Metle is Stronger and will support the Larger bal joint to carry the weight of the V8

Just my

I'd try my luck with a 2nd gen RX7 and use the front and rear suspension from it. And I'd throw the motor and tranny in as well.

I've seen RX7 IRS used in 2200s before, and I think using the front would be doable.

who was the guy that was building that sweet old skool looking mazda with the v8 and coilovers?

Coil overs may not yield any sports car like gains.
The stock torsion bars are plenty strong to handle the extra weight, so save some $$$ and just get some performance shocks.

If you're after better handling, look into having a larger front sway bar made, and adding one to the rear.
This will improve your handling exponentially!

I have a 36mm(1-5/16") sway bar on the front of mine and it hugs turns like no other...
I don't have anything on the rear yet, so it has a little over steer, but that will change soon!

I found just with my trucks slammed and with a good set of sticky tires, they handled like nothing else.

I had no complaints with the front suspension after I dropped in a V8... it held the front up nice.
... until I went around a turn and the whole truck rolled.

The tires grab just fine, but felt like the whole thing was gonna go all the way over.
And the under steer was incredibly huge!

well yeah, you've thrown off the weight balance with the v8 in there
