Ok here is the deal! I am fixing to order my airride kit and I been thinking alot about what I want the '83 to do and not do! I am all about dragging it, not dancing it ! So in other words I don't need or want to side to side it or three wheel or any of that! I just want to lift it and slam the Beeaattcchh on the pavement! I know I am gonna run 3/8 valves, (Not super fast, and for sure not super slow! Where my questions come in is all the kits I have found have like 10+ switch boxes and do the FBSS stuff! Any ideas of websites to find just a basic Front and back setup? I just want front, back, and maybe all over up and down! At the most I wanna have 3 switches if possible....How do I accomplish this? And where can I order the switch extensions? I have seen those on a few rides and they look really pimp! Ok and if I were to piece together a kit "other than bags", how many valves do I need, and what else would I need to make a good reliable kit to perform what I need it to??? Thanks in advance for the help guys!

ok let me say this.... you ARE going to want to have 8 valves. even if you don't want side to side. it helps to keep the truck level that you control. so independant valves are needed to do this... or at least independant front. to level the front.

YOU CAN RUN A BASIC FRONT BACK SETUP WITH SIX VALVES BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER TO GO WITH 8

yes 8 is better or at lis 6... you dont want your truck to sigg on one side when you got a girl in it or your friends ride with, now you can get just a 6,7,9 or a 10 switch box's, or you can just get the sitches by them selfs and wire them up the way you want, I did this on my first truck and only had three switches and hated it when friends would ride with me, so i put 4 more valves( oh yes you would need just 4 for the just fb) and now I can keep the truck level,..... as to where you go to get switches and parts, ebay, crageslist, anywhere else but aims and fbi, like suicidedoors there very good, sometimes they get behind but all you got to do is call ricky and he'll help you out, plus if you dont thank you can wire it up or thank something is wrong after it is call and they will help you try to fix it (over the phone )

You should at least run 6 valves. Like everybody said above me, the ride will be better, and stay level.

I'm running 6 valves on mine, and only 2 switches. I bout all my parts off of forums, craigslist, and got brackets from Suicidedoors.com.

There a couple forum vendors on here. I personally havent dealt with but there are severl ppl on the forums that have and only had good words about them....

I might be wrong but i think AVS sells the 3 or 4 switch boxes. They are a little high on the price but you can't beat the quality. And they are super easy to wire up.

avs has the 5 switch, both fronts (individual) both front and back up at same time i believe it's pancake, and both rears(individual). plus the box is not gigantic and can easily sit in your lap for easy, comfortable use. just my 2 cents. best of luck on finding what you want

ya avs has them but like he said COST.. you could all ways go to radio shack and get the switchs from there they sell switches that will work..... not the greatest things in the world but they do work....they sell project boxs too so you can make your own switch box

For $40-50 you can get a 5 switch box and this really saves you the hassle of wiring your own. I am all for making parts yourself and I also enjoy constructing my own parts but I feel that cutting corners in some places to save a little money usually will cost you more more money/hassle in the end and you will just end up wishing you spent the money up front.

i agree....you should really run 8 valves....or even a valve block...which is 8 valves on one block its cheaper but not as fast....and you should have 5 switches....4 independants and one all up all down....thats what im gonna do as soon as i get 2 more valves...its really nice to have the capability to do everything that you want or dont want just to have it ya know????
